Initial Incident Form

A new incident should be started when it is or is likely to be life-threatening, life-changing or a serious impact on the community.
The details can be updated as circumstances change - the system will automatically alert the local authority.
To launch a new incident, follow the instructions below or watch the video at the bottom of the page.

Fill in the basic details on the form. The date and time will fill in automatically but can be adjusted. The location pin will default to where you are - drag the pin1 to the incident location. When you are ready, click the Save2 button.

Add crime scenes, cordons and RVP by clicking the +1 button. A map will pop up - give it a name, draw the perimeter2 or drop/move the pin, add useful information in the description box, then click the save button3.
You will see all the locations together, colour coded, on the map on the right.

When you have finished drawing and dropping pins, click the Continue4 button.

The postcode, CAD number and times are added for you. The duration defaults to 24hrs, you can adjust it in the End time1 box.
Draw the perimeter2 on the map. When complete, it will turn dark. If you make a mistake or need to adjust, click Remove3 and start again. When you are ready, click Save4.

Remember, adjustments can be made at any time - e.g. if the timeframe is extended or the perimeter changes - the local authority will be notified automatically.

Section 35 map page works in the same way as the Section 60 (above). When you are ready, click the Save button.

The Partner message can be included at any time - the rest of the information is not dependent on the message being available.
Click the
Send button when ready.
